Wagner Contemporary opened at its new location, in the Paddington Art Precinct, in June, 2016. Reinforced by Wagner Art Gallery's reputation for high integrity, the gallery’s new identity and vision reflect a strong focus on contemporary Australian art, boasting a stable of leading contemporary artists, including a strong component of female artists, working across a range of media and genres.
The gallery’s new space has been architecturally designed with expansive white walls, elegant flooring and museum-standard lighting to create an aesthetic space, showcasing art works to their best advantage.
Nadine Wagner, a second generation gallerist and the Director of Wagner Contemporary, is strongly committed to and passionate about presenting exciting early career artists and high calibre solo exhibitions by Australian artists on a monthly basis. Her vision follows a continuum of thought which has informed 20 years of gallery management and directorship. Wagner Contemporary showcases a solo exhibition by an established or early career artist every month and regularly participates in art fairs (including Melbourne Art Fair, Sydney Contemporary, Head On Photo Festival and Art Month). Many of the Wagner artists have been placed in national, state and regional collections.
