From 9 July Wagner Contemporary presents a curated selection of recent works on paper by acclaimed Sydney artist, Deborah Kelly. Modest in scale but boundlessly imaginative, with these hand-cut collages Kelly transports us to secret, shining worlds and strange new horizons. Using her vast collection of vintage, antique and contemporary sources in combination with pure pigments and watercolours, she conjures here elaborate invitations to contemplation, to dreaming, to power and to possibility.
Deborah Kelly's works can currently be seen in Rococolonial at Hazelhurst Art Gallery (touring to Bathurst Art Gallery from 3 August); OK Democracy, We Need To Talk at Campbelltown Arts Centre; Craftivism at Mornington Peninsula Regional Art Gallery, 52 Artists 52 Actions at Artspace in Woolloomooloo, and coming up in the National Print Award Exhibition at Fremantle Arts Centre, in Here We Are at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and Being Human at the Wellcome Trust in London.
