Melissa Egan’s new works contain the charming and whimsical story-tale imagery for which she is well-known and celebrated. Her narratives evoke a particular emotive experience or event and her characters are full of personality. This much-awaited exhibition pays homage to great European masters in the canon of Western art, exploring character, story and landscape, within Egan’s magnificent settings, alive with rich colour and light.  Melissa Egan is regularly selected for major awards and has been a finalist in the Doug Moran and Portia Geach Portrait prizes, the Blake Religious Art Prize, the Fleurieu Landscape Prize and the Kedumba Drawing Award. This year she won the Members’ Choice Award in the Tattersall’s Club Landscape Art Prize and was Highly Commended in 2016 and 2017. Her work is held in collections both in Australia and overseas.
